Freedom House for Women, Inc. (FHFW) will celebrate its Fifth Year Anniversary & Recognition Dinner October 6, 2012 at Akron Urban League’s President’s Hall, located at 440 Vernon Odom Blvd, Akron, OH 44306.

The mission of FHFW is to decrease barriers of addiction and homelessness that prevent adults from becoming productive citizens in our community. Over the past five years, our primary focus has been to work in preventing homelessness of single-head-of household mothers with children, with the primary objective to offer recovery support programs.

Keynote Speaker

Judge Carla Moore from the Ohio 9th District Court of Appeals will be our featured speaker for the evening. Having served as a judge for over 20 years in our community, she is uniquely positioned to speak to issues involving addiction and recovery from a judicial perspective.

On this fifth year anniversary, FHFW would like to celebrate the accomplishments of our clients with YOU, a member of the community where FHFW serves. The following quotes are from two clients that were served through FHFW:

“Freedom House for Women is efficient in helping and encouraging you to get what you need done NOW, not later… when I walked through the door I felt comfortable which enabled me to say what I was struggling with.” – Former client 2012 – Carolyn A.

“I thank the Freedom House for Women for everything they have done for me, when I thought it was the end; they showed me my life could keep going.” – Former client 2012 -Erin D.

Freedom House for Women is seeking your support to make this event a tremendous success. We along with area collaborative partners like Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority and local grant funder’s thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to celebrating our five year milestone with you on October 6, 2012.
